University Program Overview

Aldec, Inc. is offering University Program and Student Editions of its professional Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software tools to educational institutions at a fraction of the cost. The University Program makes available Aldec's Active-HDL and Riviera-PRO EDA tools which are identical to the ones sold commercially to professional logic circuit design engineers. The annual term license base price and per seat fee is renewable every year and includes feature and library upgrades. The Student Edition has been created just for the Active-HDL Windows-based family of EDA tools. The Student Edition of Active-HDL can be used outside a Logic Circuit Design lab. It can be used by a student as a reference during academic studies and as a continuing educational source during a future career.

University Program License Configurations

Active-HDL and Riviera-PRO are available in bundles of 10, 20 or 50 seats (floating licenses). Educational floating licenses have been configured to support the growing demand for Riviera-PRO and Active-HDL at University and Research Institutes around the world. There are no feature limitations on the software, but it may only be used for educational purposes within an accredited university lab.

Active-HDL Student Edition

Aldec has developed an Active-HDL Student Edition based on the popular Active-HDL design and simulation environment. The Aldec Student Edition is a great opportunity for students looking to use a VHDL, Verilog and SystemC simulator outside of a school lab. Active-HDL Student Edition retains much of the same functionality, menus, and icons as the Professional or Expert Editions of this product but is limited in features and capacity. Aldec, Inc. feels that the configuration of the product offers a very valuable opportunity for those seeking to learn VHDL, Verilog and SystemC simulation and related logic circuit design implementation flows on their own or in addition to course instruction.

Textbook Publishing Partners

Aldec, Inc. is also bundling its Student Edition of Active-HDL with textbook publishers Pearson Prentice Hall and McGraw-Hill. The quickest approach to gaining access to the product is to download the product from Aldec website.
